Ambassador Raychelle Awuor Omamo, SC, EGH is a distinguished lawyer and seasoned diplomat with public policy and strategic management experience at ministerial level. In her pioneering career as a woman professional, she has served the Republic of Kenya as Minister of Foreign Affairs; Minister of Defence; Acting Minister of Labour and Social Services; Ambassador to France with accreditation to Spain, The Holy See, Portugal and Serbia; and as Permanent Representative to UNESCO. Additionally, Ambassador Omamo was the first woman to be elected Chairperson of the Law
Society of Kenya and holds the rank of Senior Counsel.

Presently, Ambassador Omamo undertakes consultancy and advisory work in the area of women’s empowerment, peace and security. She serves as member of the Advisory Board of the Munich Security Conference and the AU Task Force for Women’s Led Peace Building Initiatives in the Great Lakes Region.
