Mr. Onyango is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Managing Partner at J.L. Onyango and Company Advocates, and a Chartered Mediator

This seasoned, Judiciary-accredited mediator is a member of various professional bodies including the Mediation Training Institute of East Africa (MTIEA), Law Society of Kenya (LSK) – where he served in the Committee of the Continuing of Professional Development (CCPD) for twelve years, and East African Law Society (EALS).

He is also the Founder and Managing Director of the Turning Point Counselling and Training Services (TPCTS). As such, he is a member and Legal Advisor to the Kenya Counseling and Psychologists Association (KCPA) and Kenya Association of Professional Counsellors (KAPC).

Mr. Onyango’s distinguished career spans over thirty five years in various capacities in public service, including as Assistant Registrar of Trade Unions, Prosecutor, Civil Debts, Attorney General’s Chambers, Chief Revenue Officer, Ministry of Finance and Senior Assistant Commissioner, Kenya Revenue Authority. Currently, he is a Council Member of Kirinyaga University and Chairman of Board of Management of various Public High Schools.

He holds a Master in Law (LLM) degree, a Master of Art in Counseling Psychology degree, and a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi. He also holds a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, and a Diploma in Public Finance from the Royal Institute of Public Finance (RIPA) in London (UK).

He practices law in Nairobi in the areas of taxation, intellectual property, employment and labour, family, conveyancing, estate and commercial. He is a father, grandfather, and born-again Christian who has interest in sports, reading, freelance photography and singing.
